The observatory, owned by the West Lafayette School Corporation, is used by Purdue’s Physics and Astronomy Department for teaching and research, and by the Wabash Valley Astronomical Society (WVAS) for community events. WVAS, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit promoting astronomy, identified the need for a redesign.
